Our City Our Schools is announcing the People’s School Board slate, 11 people — parents, students and educators — who are ready to lead our schools in a new direction. While we wait to hear who is on the nominating committee to the next school board, Our City Our Schools is putting forward a vision of what our next school board should stand for: – A school board that reflects the true stakeholders and diversity of our schools – A school board free of conflicts of interest and monied interests – A school board ready to fight for fair funding, for an end to the school to prison pipeline, for teacher of color recruitment efforts.
