Between now and election day there are plenty of opportunities to canvass, phone bank, and text bank. Please check out all the possibilities below and pick at least one.
It is not hyperbole to say that democracy is on the ballot this election. The politically charged U.S. Supreme Court is currently hearing Moore v. Harper, a case which will determine whether state legislatures have the exclusive ability to regulate federal elections. When the Supreme Court first took up this case, both of Pennsylvania’s houses were lopsidedly Republican. A Heather Boyd win will place the Pennsylvania House in Democratic control, thereby forcing the court to at least consider exercising restraint from infusing partisanship in its deliberations.
Meanwhile, we can’t stress enough that the school board races in places like Central Bucks and Perkiomen Valley can be determined by primary night, since it is possible for Republicans to win Democratic school board primaries and vice versa in Pennsylvania. These races will not only determine how democracy is conveyed in these school districts, but will also help to groom the next generation of house reps, state senators, and U.S. Congressional representatives in the commonwealth.
