Join Our Block Cleanup Crew!

Saturday, June 14th, 10AM-12PM, 5845 Germantown Ave.

Ready to roll up your sleeves and put in two hours of community work?

Then join us as we conduct our first Block Cleanup of the Summer in the neighborhood of Vernon Park. We are doing this in conjunction with our friend Rep. Andre Carroll and partners as one of the ways to demonstrate that we're willing to be real allies, not just someone who shows up at election time.

We'll have bags and some equipment, but if you can bring a broom that would be very helpful!  We'll meet at the office of Rep. Andre Carroll, located at 5845 Germantown Ave., have some snacks and light refreshments and decide on street assignments. Then we'll get to work!

Can't do it then, but want to help? Let us know and we'll keep you informed.

Join the "Good Trouble" Call Squad!

Wednesday, June 18th, 6PM-8PM, Address Upon RSVP

Everyone on our Call Squad is having fun having good conversations with folks outside of Philly and connecting them with their GOP leaders to pressure them to reject the massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP programs that affect more than a million Pennsylvanians.

This is the kind of consistent pressure that is most effective, working to get some separation between these electeds and an increasingly unpopular MAGA agenda to save their own political careers.

In the past month, our Call Squad connected hundreds of voters to Senator McCormick's and Rep. Bresnahan's offices! They left personal messages about their desire to protect funding for these foundational programs, blew up their phone lines with calls, keeping up a relentless outcry against the MAGA agenda.

We have another "Good Trouble" phone bank scheduled for June 25th. Sign up for one or both.

"Time to Stand Up" Town Hall

Monday, June 30th, 6PM-8PM, 5600 W. Girard Ave.

The Coalition to Defend Democracy, of which PNN is a founding member, is conducting our second "Time to Stand Up" Town Hall at the Vine Memorial Baptist church located at 5600 W. Girard Ave on the last day of June.

You'll hear from organizing leaders about the key issues we're facing right now and, more importantly, you'll take part in the planning of actions to fight back against this fascist regime.

This event will focus mostly on budget issues at the state, federal and local levels, including housing, SNAP, education, civil rights, DEI and government workers.

We will also make outreach calls to our senators at the meeting, to amplify our voices collectively when pressure can be most effective.

Safety at "No Kings" Rally

Saturday, June 14th, 12PM, LOVE Park, 15th & JFK Blvd.

Philadelphia has been selected as the National Anchor for a June 14th "No Kings" Rally!

With the recent trouble stirred up by the Dictator-in-Chief, we want to let you know that rally organizers are coordinating with the Phila Police Dept. to make sure this rally is a safe space for non-violent displays of our rights to free speech and free assembly, secure from outside agitators. And our District Attorney isn't going to put up with troublemaker nonsense.

Don't let them scare you. Bring signs and enthusiasm as we start our rally at Love Park at Noon. Then we'll march to the Art Museum for the rally, where you'll hear from a broad range of speakers.

Want to Help? Click the link below to email us that you want to be a Peacekeeper!

If you would like to attend another "No Kings" event, there is one being conducted at Lovett Library in West Mt. Airy from 12PM-2PM; or you can click here to find other rallies.

Celebrate Juneteenth Philly-Style

Thursday, June 19th, All-Day, Everywhere

The longest-running holiday celebrating Black emancipation from slavery, Juneteenth marks the moment that enslaved Africans in Galveston, Texas, learned that they had been freed — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, officially ending the American slave trade.

Today, Juneteenth is celebrated in Philadelphia with historical reenactments, educational programming, parades, festivals and more. If you'd like to know more, click below for official events.
