Excitement About the Harris/Walz Ticket

What a turnaround! In a few short weeks, the Democratic Party has revitalized itself and given a renewed sense of hope for our future to millions of Americans.

If you had the stomach to watch the GOP Convention, you may recall the smugness of the Tangerine Traitor as he regurgitated lie after lie to his cult, and how their speakers delighted in mocking President Biden's physical heath, while distorting his actual record - an immense list of good things for our nation. They thought they had a cake-walk to the White House.

Then, in a political masterstroke, Joe Biden did the one thing the GOP never expected - he withdrew from the race and endorsed his running-mate, Kamala Harris - blowing up the GOP playbook and leaving Republican campaign operatives scrambling to come up with an entirely new campaign, not to mention making all that "Let's Go, Brandon" merchandise irrelevant. (Don't believe the fairy tale about Joe making this decision "alone with his family" - this was closely-held and carefully orchestrated.)

Now, with the announcement of her running-mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris has made her first Big Decision a very smart one. Walz has the resume to counter the constant harangue from MAGA talking heads about "Hollywood liberals".

Born in small-town Nebraska, Walz served in the National Guard for 24 years, was a school teacher, football coach, and trusted leader who proves that Midwestern values mean school lunches, help for those who need it, and a common decency that we all want in our elected officials.

Now it is up to us to do the necessary work to save our democracy - our way of life - from the craven fascists who want to tear America down and replace it with dictatorship in service to a monster. This moment will decide the fate of our nation. Don't be caught on the sidelines.

Are You Ready to Buddy Canvass?

Mid-August thru Election Day, in Mt Airy/Elsewhere

Sign up to canvass in Wards 22 and 59 (and elsewhere) starting mid-August - to talk with voters (particularly, low-turnout) about Kamala Harris' record and plans for the future, the nefarious plans of Trump/Vance and the GOP's Project 2025, and why their vote can make the difference.  If Philly has a big turnout, we win Pennsylvania.

If you'd like to help this summer, whether it's buddy canvassing, postcards, planning/staffing events, make phone calls or you've got another idea, please Click Here to let us know.

Paid Canvass Opportunities

Thru the Summer Until Election Day

We will announce our first canvass prep workshop next week.

If you or someone you know would like to get paid to talk with your neighbors, then click on the link below to sign up. PNN is looking to hire people to canvass neighbors in select communities in the city. You must be personable, responsible to the work, have a smart phone, and be willing to learn how to use the MiniVAN app to capture information from the people you talk with at the doors.

Work is typically a five-hour shift with a paid half hour break taken from that time. At the start of each shift, you'll get a List Number that you'll input into the MiniVAN app. You'll be given instructions - and practice - on what to say at the doors, how to record information in MiniVAN, and how to close out your shift.

Canvassers are paid $20/hr for five hours for a total of $100 per shift. Accommodations can be made on hours and days to fit personal schedules. You can work as often as you like within program limits.
